Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2021 Toyota Tacoma

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Baseplate on a 2021 Toyota Tacoma. And this is what your baseplate is gonna look like when it's installed on your truck. And overall, it's a pretty clean look. It's exposed so you can see the entire thing across, but it sits underneath the front bumper well enough to where it has a pretty clean look overall. Now it does have a mounting point for your breakaway switch, as well as your six-pole, which is a nice added convenience. You won't have to worry about fabricating anything up there. more

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2019 Toyota Corolla

Rob: Hey, everybody. Rob's here etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster direct connect style base plate on our 2019 Toyota Corolla. Now, here's what our base plate is going to look like once we have it installed. Our base plate is going to be giving us that solid attachment point so we can hook our motor home up with the tow bar to our Corolla, so whenever we take our motor home on a trip, we can take our Corolla with us. Because that's the whole point of flat towing your vehicle, being able to take that smaller vehicle so we can get around once we get to the campsite. We don't have to worry about driving our motor home, maybe just to run up to the gas station or maybe out to dinner. more

Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit Installation - 2017 Toyota Corolla iM

Rob: Hey, everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com. And today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate on our 2017 Toyota Corolla iM. Now here's what our base plate is going to look like once we have it installed. But one of my favorite things about it is, we don't necessarily want to drive around with these arms sticking out because it is an additional thing adding to the look of our car. But they're going to have a pull ring on it, and if we pull it, we can rotate the arm, and we can actually remove it and it has a much cleaner look whenever we're not towing it. more

Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit Installation - 2018 Toyota Tacoma

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Tacoma, we're going be installing Roadmaster's EZ5 Base Plate kit, part number RM-521196-5.This base plate is gonna allow you to tow your vehicle behind your RV, motor home, or whatever else you want to pull it with. It's going to be tucked up nicely behind the bumper, so you're almost not even going to notice it's there. Even when the arms are installed that connect to your tow bars, they're only going be slightly in front of your bumper there, so they don't stick out too far, so you don't have to worry as much about walking around it while they're in and banging up your leg on it.When you're ready to hook up your tow bars, simply slide in the arms on each end, then twist it to lock it in place. You'll do that with the other arm as well, and now you can make your connection. On the front of your base plate, you're going have locations to mount your safety chains, your breakaway switch, and your 6 volt connector for your wiring. It has all the necessary brackets and everything to make it easy to install all the other components you'll need for a flat tow set up. more

Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit Installation - 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Today on 2003 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, part number 1159-1. Here's what it looks like once it's installed. It's going to use all three existing holes in the frame with the exception of this U-bolt that's going to slide over the top of the frame on the rearmost part. This base plate is designed to be used with all the Roadmaster tow bars, quick connects and standard tow bar. When you take out the pin, it's going to be virtually undetectable from the front of the vehicle, as you remove your cables, or you can just tuck them up inside and zip tie them out of the way. First up on our Toyota, it's going to be to remove the factory tow hook in this loop here and the same thing on the driver's side. We'll use a 17 mm socket and let's remove those. more

Roadmaster XL Baseplate Kit Installation - 1991 Toyota Pickup

Today on our 1991 Toyota pickup, we'll be installing the Road Master XL base plate kit, part number 1146-1. To start off, we need to remove a tow hook on the passenger side of our pickup. It's attached by two bolts and the manufacturer's weld nuts. These two will be part of our attachment points for our base plate. To make things easier, we sprayed these bolts down with some penetrating lubricant to help break those bolts free. We'll repeat that on the driver's side to remove a tow loop. Our third attachment point will be just behind those two weld nuts we just exposed. more

Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit Installation - 2013 Toyota Yaris

Today on our 2013 Toyota Yaris Three Door Hatchback we're going to be installing the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, part number 521181-5. To install the removable arms that look like this, this right here is the driver side and if you rotate it like that, slide it 90, push it in, and let it come back down into position, that locks it securely in place. We're going to begin our installation today by first raising up the hood of the vehicle. Next we're going to need to remove several fasteners to remove the front fascia off of this vehicle. We'll go ahead and start with four fasteners that need to be removed on the top here. To remove the fastener we'll simply take a small, flathead screwdriver, side it underneath the center, we'll then take another flathead screwdriver or in this case we're going to use a trim panel removal tool and remove the fastener. Go ahead and repeat this process for the other three fasteners up here. Next we're going to come underneath the vehicle. more
